Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and phone number.
Client Data: If you use our compliance reminder features, you may enter client names, contact details, and compliance-related information. This data is stored securely and used solely to provide you with the reminder service.
Usage Data: We may collect information about how you use TaxPracto, including pages visited, features used, search queries, and time spent on the platform. This helps us improve our service.
Payment Information: Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or UPI information on our servers. Razorpay handles all payment data under their own security and privacy standards.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To create and maintain your TaxPracto account
- To provide our section mapping, compliance reminder, and other services
- To send you important service-related notifications (deadline reminders, account updates)
- To improve and personalise your experience on the platform
- To process your subscription payments through Razorpay
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests
- To send you updates about new features and changes to the service (you may opt out)
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We take reasonable measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate TaxPracto (such as Razorpay for payments, Google for hosting and calendar integration, and WhatsApp Business API providers for reminders). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process, we may disclose your information to comply with applicable laws or respond to valid legal requests.
- With Your Consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
5. Cookies and Analytics
TaxPracto may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience and to understand how our service is used. We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to collect anonymised usage data. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
6. WhatsApp Messages
If you use our WhatsApp reminder feature, messages are sent through the official WhatsApp Business API. We only send transactional and utility messages (compliance reminders and service notifications). We will not send promotional messages without your explicit consent. You can opt out of WhatsApp messages at any time through your TaxPracto settings.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: You may request that we delete your account and associated data. We will comply within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

8. Client Data Responsibility
If you enter client data into TaxPracto (for compliance reminders or other features), you are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your clients for storing and processing their data through our platform. We act as a data processor for client data that you enter, and you remain the data controller.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
10. Children's Privacy
TaxPracto is designed for tax professionals and is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Compliance with Indian Law
TaxPracto complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its applicable rules regarding the collection, storage, and processing of personal data. When the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 rules are notified and come into effect, we will update our practices to comply with those requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
